お久しぶりです！台北に久しぶりに行ってきました。欣葉という以前私たちが日本でやっていた台湾料理のレストランのオーナーたちに会いにいってきました。なつかしい笑顔、台湾料理の素朴なおいしさなど、何年か前に戻ったよう新鮮な気持ちになりました。
台北では、流行っているお店等を見学しました。そこで思ったのは日本のクオリティの良さです。製品や味など、メイドインジャパンは台湾の人たちも認めているし、求めているんだなぁと思いました。同時に、私たちの先代の人が作って来た日本の良さに対して、ちゃんと感謝しているかなと思いました。お寺や建築物等ハードの面では、伝統を継承しようとしていますが、技術とか心といったソフトの部分の継承は日本人は下手かもしれないなと思いました。
また、台湾に行って思ったこと。家族の大切さです。ひいおばあちゃん、そのさらに上のおばあちゃんから孫まで、欣葉の家族にお邪魔して、みなで一緒にご飯を食べました。心のこもった料理、おもてなしの心に感激しました。家族を主体として動いているんだなぁということを強く感じ、ビジネスライクではなく、家族を大切にする心もまた、大切にしたいと思いました。反省×２です。

I had not been to Taipei for a long time. I visited Shiye, our former partner of Taiwanese cuisine in Japan. Seeing them with good food made me nostalgic remembering old days of many years ago. In Taipei, I visited some trendy places. I realized that people appreciate Japan quality, and that the quality was pretty good not only to mention manufactures but also food. At the same time, I was wondering if we appreciate our ancestors enough. We tend to preserve hard such as temples or buildings, but we may not be good at succeeding soft, our technique or hearts. Also, I realized the importance of families. I was welcomed to have dinner together with all the family. I was impressed by the heartwarming handmade cooking and their hospitality. I felt strongly that they live with strong tie with families. I learned from them that we should appreciate families more.
